Here’s a step-by-step guide
- Define with the client the objective and scope of the research that justifies the application of the CAPI survey.
- Define the time and cost of the field, its scope and limitations.
- Design of a work schedule for the execution of the CAPI survey.
- Evaluation and selection of the software tools or Apps to be used in the field.
- Evaluation and selection of computer equipment or mobile devices to be used for data collection
- Recruitment and selection of personnel to perform the CAPI survey in the field (interviewers or agents)
- Training in the use of the capture system (Offline Questionnaire), i.e. device handling, activation of GPS, voice recording, photo taking, etc.
- Execute a pilot testing with interviewers and devices in the real field
- Adjustments to the details and reviewing of questionnaire, verbatim adjustment and correction of errors detected during the pilot study
- Arranging appointments with respondents, if required
- Conducting the actual CAPI survey in the field
- Monitoring of the CAPI survey process, detecting and correcting errors, measuring the times and productivity of the work team
